The bottom line is simply this: God HAS provided clear, understandable answers to the “most puzzling questions about existence,” but you will not find them here. You will, however, find them in the Bible, the Word of God, and in the teaching of the Church. What you will find in this book are outright falsehoods, half-truths and humanistic wisdom masquerading as spiritual wisdom. The devil will love this book for the confusion it will cause in the unevangelized and uncatechized. For example, let’s take this gem of a lie: A girl poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?”
His (”God’s”) reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong…” Here you have a clear, understandable contradiction of God’s own word: “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man commits is outside the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.” (1 Corinthians 6:18) The Bible calls “living with my boyfriend” fornication, i.e., premarital sex and it is one of the sins that can bar a person from the Kingdom of Heaven. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, the Bible says, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,” {10}”nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” Jesus also warned: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ’, and will deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5) He also said,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 10:9) or he

The Kindle 2 does everything it is advertised to do and a little more. In most cases it does it well and I have no complaints at all. If It were to be redesigned or improved I think the MP3 player should be made so you can select songs you want to hear, rather then just streamline them out in the order they are recorded. Overall I am satisfied (quite happily so-in fact). I recommend it. They are right about the machine sort of disappearing in your hand while reading. So often I have caught myself trying to physically flip to the next page just like when reading a paper book, rather than pushing the page turn button. When the price reaches down to about $150 to $175 it will be where it should be and at such time will,be a great buy. Right now it is still a little spendy. But lots of free books are available and I can even go to my own web site URL from it and I have saved the complete text of several of my own books on my kindle. This book is generally considered a classic, and I can understand why. The plot elements are great, but the main character/narrator is not. Holden Caulfield is one of the least sympathetic characters in literary history. His voice is hard to read because it is so annoying. It is hard to imagine any real person speak or think like that, regardless of the time period. For most people, this book is very “Love it or hate it”; I think it is a must read for that reason. Everyone should make up their own mind about it.

I love the functions, the readability, the portability and the design.

However, Amazon should feel ashamed for putting such a phenomenally fragile device out into the public sphere.

Two days ago I was reading my kindle in my living room and placed the device on my thigh while answering a phone call. My Kindle slipped off my leg and landed flush with the floor. The fall was ~2 feet. When I picked it up and attempted to turn the page I noted that half of the screen was blank. My Kindle is shot. Gone, Worthless.

Did I mentioned that it dropped less than 2 feet onto a CARPET FLOOR? A padded, carpeted floor. Yes folks, it’s true.

Seeing as Amazon has no intention of providing me anything approaching a fair and equitable repair fee for my loss, I can only hope that other disappointed customers will get together and file a legal challenge to Amazon for their misleading videos showing Kindle’s robustness.

It is a good idea poorly executed and terribly engineered.

I will not be purchasing another and plan to vent in every venue I can on just what a piece of junk this thing is. One need only Google search terms for ‘fragile kindle’ to see just how many other customers have gone through what I experienced a few days ago.

Until Amazon makes appropriate engineering changes this item is a definite ___DO NOT BUY___
